West News Wire: Ukraine is one of Europe’s poorest countries, and its rotten economy has been harmed by rising concerns over the threat of Russian invasion.

According to the source, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told numerous congressional leaders over the phone that President Joe Biden’s administration will grant Kyiv $1 billion in sovereign loan guarantees.

Sullivan reiterated the Biden administration’s belief that Russia may strike Ukraine “any day now” on Sunday.

In addition to economic and humanitarian help, the US has committed $650 million in security assistance to Ukraine in the last year.

On Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on a visit to Kyiv he was “determined” to maintain aid to the country.

G7 countries have also warned Moscow they are ready to impose sanctions that would have a huge and immediate impact on Russia’s economy, should it pursue any further military aggression against Ukraine.
