West News Wire: According to Andrew Yang, the former Democrat, American system is a “faux democracy.”
In an interview on Tuesday, Yang, a former Democratic presidential candidate and current co-chair of the Forward Party, stated, “Our lives may just sink in the dirt, it doesn’t matter in this political system, and so you have this basically sham democracy at this point.
“And that’s what we have to shake up and change,” he continued. “Restoring a true democracy in this nation is the only way we’re going to see a human-centered economy or any of our problems solved.”
According to Yang, the United States‘ present primary system only permits a small minority of individuals to choose the candidates for president.
He stated that neither Donald Trump nor Joe Biden will advance to the 2024 presidential primary if the general public decides who should not be the nominee.
“You have a small segment of the populace selecting the nominees. And they don’t share the ideologies of the typical American, he continued. “Everything is being warped by it. It’s one of the reasons Trump is trampleing the grass there.
“You wouldn’t get Biden versus Trump if you put it to the American public and asked, ‘Who should be the nominees?'”
President Biden, who is 80 years old, declared last week that he would run for reelection in 2024, setting up a rematch with his Republican predecessor Trump, who would be 77 years old in 2019.
If he were to win reelection in 2024, Biden would become the oldest president in US history, age 86, at the end of his second term.
In order to have enough time to fulfil his promises and return the United States to its original form, Biden believed that he required a second term in government.
The majority of Americans, though, feel neither Biden nor Trump should be a candidate for president in 2024.
He said that if the electorate decides who should not be the nominee, neither Donald Trump nor Joe Biden will move on to the 2024 presidential primary.
“Only a small portion of the population chooses the nominees. They also don’t adhere to the same ideals as the average American, he added. “Everything is being warped by it. It’s one of the reasons Trump is trampleing the grass there.

60 percent of Americans, including about a third of Republicans, believe Donald Trump should not run for president again, according to a recent NBC News poll. The criminal accusations he is facing in New York are cited as “a major reason” for 30% of those who oppose his bid for office in 2024.
In the meanwhile, the poll found that 70% of Americans, including 51% of Democrats, think Biden should not run for re-election.
Nearly half of those opposed to Biden running again cited his advanced age as a major deterrent. 76 is Trump’s age.
In the meantime, no prominent Democratic challenger is expected to emerge against Biden. So far, Marianne Williamson, 70, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 69, have been the only names reported in this regard.
