West News Wire: Following an attack by Israel’s air force on the UN-run al-Fakhoora school and a second shelter in Tal al-Zataar later in the day, dozens of people are dead or injured. Thousands of Palestinians who had been displaced by violence were accommodated in UN-run schools in northern Gaza.
Since October 7, at least 12,000 people have perished as a result of Israeli assaults on Gaza. Approximately 1,200 people have officially died as a result of Hamas strikes in Israel.
The director of UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine relief, claims to have seen “horrifying” pictures and video showing numerous victims of an attack on “another” UNRWA school in the northern Gaza Strip.
“These attacks must end; they cannot become routine. In a post on X, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated that a humanitarian ceasefire could not wait any longer.
Numerous people lost their lives in an Israeli attack against the UN-run al-Fakhoora School in northern Gaza earlier. It was providing refuge to hundreds of displaced conflict victims.
In the meantime, Israel has requested that Meta, the parent corporation of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, remove over 8,000 posts that reference the Gaza War.
The Israeli state prosecutor’s office reports that 94% of the content that was detected has been removed.
The prosecutor’s office submitted 9,500 content takedown requests to major social media platforms, of which Meta received about 60% of them.
