West News Wire: This week, Ford made the significant recall announcement for more than 1.2 million of its vehicles due to a problem with the brake fluid hoses.

The front brake hoses on Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured between 2013 and 2018 may burst and spill brake fluid, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The NHTSA stated that a brake fluid leak would lengthen the distance required to stop the vehicle and raise the risk of [a] crash.

Owners will get letters informing them of the recall, the government said. According to the NHTSA, dealers will free of charge replace the front brake lines.

Owners may inquire about recall 23S12 by calling Ford at 1-866-436-7332 or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
