West News Wire: The Saudi authorities announced the arrest of a number of perpetrators of extortion, sexual assault and roberry in the capital, Riyadh, and the Jazan region.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that the police managed to arrest 3 people who were involved in committing crimes of extortion and sexual assault in the Jazan region.
The statement said that the arrested suspects were a Saudi citizen and two Yemeni nationals who entered the country illegally.
The ministry stated that they were arrested and initial legal measures were taken against them, as they were referred to the Public Prosecution Branch.
In the same line, the Riyadh police announced on Thursday the arrest of 17 violators of the residency system who committed crimes of stealing broken vehicles, dismantling their parts and selling them.
The media spokesman for the Riyadh police in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Major Khaled Al-Kraidis, stated that among the arrested were 14 of Sudanese nationalities, and 3 of Pakistani, Afghani and Syrian nationalities, their ages between 20’s and 30’s.
He pointed out that the defendants committed the crimes of stealing broken vehicles, dismantling their parts and selling them, according to SPA.
He also explained that Saudi citizens were arrested for harboring violators, concealing stolen goods, and storing their parts in sites owned by them, pointing out that they were arrested, and initial legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
